Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)

You may start hating me. Here’s the second straight movie that is widely considered good that I am gonna disagree with the general consensus. Please here me out. This movie needs to be watched without distraction, and I may have picked a bad time. This being my third or fourth attempt, I fear it is one of those movies I may never fully like. And I want to like this movie. I truly do. To me, the cast is one of, if not the greatest cast assembled for a horror movie. Look at these names: Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, Tom Waites, and Cary Elwes. This is not a lightweight movie. It’s well done. Oldman is fantastic. I truly love Tom Waites’ performance. The story and how it is told just bores me. I’m sorry to any fans out there. This is another time where you may want to disregard my opinion. I would go so far as to recommend it and hope you get more enjoyment out of it that I did. For such a beloved movie, because I just don;t find it entertaining, but know it is good, I am gonna give this a 5.1. Any movie I have given 3 or more shots clearly is above the 5 mark.
