Future Blog Announcements – February 2019 Edition

Here are some blog and podcast announcements for projects for the first half of 2019.

I wanted to simply put all of this in one place. Yes, there will probably be a thing on Facebook too, but here I can put everything together and explain a few things. If things go the way that I would like them to, I have a tentative schedule that will take me to the summer with a variety of projects. I have been delaying this, but I think the time is right to get this done.

The big things I want to focus on is doing projects that I am happy with. I am not always happy with the projects that I go with or how I go about them. It’s for a variety of reasons. So this is going to be about having fun and liking what I am doing. I am sure some of these blogs will be done solo, but I love having others involved. I like getting other people’s perspectives, even though I often say ridiculous things in response. A lot of these projects, I want people to join in. It may not always be a Q & A format. I want to see some of you write something different. Let’s expand our horizons a bit. With that being said, let me lay out what you can expect to see in the first half of 2019 and probably beyond.

I still plan on doing my usual blogs. So the wrestling blogs, horror movie group blogs, and TV show blogs will still be in effect. As of right now, the TV shows that I will be doing are: The Punisher, The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and possibly others on NetFlix. It depends on when Stranger Things, Santa Clarita Diet, Orange is the New Black, etc return. I hope to have a Punisher blog up by February 8th if all goes well.

In February, I like to do 2 weeks of chick flicks. I am looking for any suggestions. No more than 2 per person. (Edit:  I did not make this clear on Facebook.  I got so many suggestions.  Oh well.) I will attempt to accommodate your requests. I only ask that you consider looking through this list of films to make sure I haven’t reviewed it yet. I want to do films that I haven’t reviewed yet. Chick flick is a loose term and some of you have fun with it and that’s cool with me. Here is the list of films in alphabetical order.

When Stan Lee died, my buddy, Eric, asked me about doing a Marvel themed blog. I loved the idea. I simply wasn’t sure how to go about it. Did I want to just binge the Marvel cinematic universe? Did I want to do a group discussion format? Here is what I came up with. Superhero Sundays. Every Sunday, I will be doing a superhero film. I know that there is a finite amount of them, but I will probably get bored with it long before I run out of them. I don’t know if I plan on doing all Marvel and then DC or if I am alternating. I don’t know. I like the idea of doing things chronologically. So that may be how I go about this. I don’t know what the starting point would be, but that will begin the weekend after Valentine’s Day.

I also have a new podcast coming out called Kenter At Your Own Risk. It is a horror themed podcast. Chris and I have been working on this for a few months. We like it and we wanted to branch off from the Are You Not Kentertained podcast. I would even consider doing other horror themed blogs more frequently as time goes by. A short weekly one discussing a film is something that has been on my mind. Hopefully that can become a reality soon. Update: Spooky Enkenters may be a reality sooner than later.

Finally, I have one last announcement, perhaps the biggest. In October, I got a wonderful poster from my friend, Bitty. It is a 100 Movies Bucket List scratch off poster. So I want to make this into something fun. I am asking you to look over the list. Find a movie that you would like to write about. There may be multiple ones. I am going to watch all of these and write a short review about each one. Along with my review, I’d love to have you write a short 1-3 paragraph review. I am going to leave the list here for you to look over. You can either leave me a comment here on this blog, or contact me personally. I’m more looking forward to the films on here that I haven’t seen. It will be a fresh experience. I know some of you will be more comfortable writing about a film that you have seen. That’s cool with me. I certainly do not have 100 friends or acquaintances that will write for me, so I will leave it that you can write about as many or as few as you like. I think it will be nice to get other people’s opinions involved. If you see this and think that you may enjoy this, but you aren’t sure, I say to give it a shot. 1-3 paragraphs isn’t a lot. I am not looking for some professional review. I just want your thoughts, your opinions. If you thought a performance stood out or the music was great, then talk about it. At the end, I just want you to answer one simple question. Do you recommend others to see this movie?

Starting in March, I will start this project. I will do 5 films a week for 20 weeks. Some of the movies may prompt me to review other films. This will be a Monday through Friday type of thing. That leaves the weekend for me to get to my other projects. Please consider doing this. I’ll even help you if you are nervous. With that being said, I am going to list the films. I don’t have an exact order yet. I would like to go in order on the poster if possible.

I am sure that I will not watch these in this order, but I think I would like to post them in this order. So please, let me know if you want to help me out with any of these. If more than one person wants to do the same film, that is cool with me. I do encourage you to try something that you haven’t seen. Hell, I’m dreading rewatching a few of these. The link with the full list is here.
