High Tension (2003)

Maybe I am too old school, but I have seen this movie 3 times, and it isn’t a bad movie, it has some good scenes, but it is a one trick pony. I won’t reveal that one trick, which makes this a next to impossible review.

Ok I am gonna say the acting was fine for what it was, nobody nameworthy. It takes place in France, so lots of fun terms like Ferme and Mademoiselle. OK, in all all fairness I like the term mademoiselle, it’s a sexy term. I am giving it a 5.5. Now I am gonna skip to the next paragraph and it is with spoilers, so stop reading if you don’t want to know any more.

SO yeah, the twist at the end. It was fine, but I found it to only be effective the first time, and upon further watching, it didn’t get any better. The Usual Suspects still holds up amazingly well despite knowing who Keyser Soze is. This does not. The main bitch as the killer, ok neat, but to see it again, yawwwwwn. This is another movie way too fondly reviewed and I fear it is because people are looking for something slightly different, and this certainly was that, BUT it is boring after the first go through. I understand why people like it, but I doubt they watched it more than once. Maybe I am wrong, but I think the likeability is significantly diminished.
