New Nightmare (1994)

I have a confession to make. This used to be my second favorite Nightmare, then third, then 4th, and now 5th if you count Freddy Vs Jason. Why does it keep dropping? It’s honestly because I have seen it too many times, and it’s not as charming as it was when I first saw it in the theater, bought and read the book, and bought the VHS and watched too many times. This movie is brilliant,

The concept is very creative. The girl who played Nancy in part 1 & 3, Heather Langenkamp is the star, as herself. This movie is based in reality. Her dad is in this, but now he is just known as John Saxon. Wes Craven (writer, director, creator), Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), and Robert Shaye (Producer) are all themselves. Heather has a husband, Chase,  who works on special effects and has a young son named Dylan. It should be noted that Dylan also played Gage in pet Sematary, so he is kinda horror royalty.

The plot is tough to explain, but weird Freddy related shit starts happening to Heather in the real world. A lot of stuff happens to her and Dylan and the line between fiction and reality begin to blur. I don’t really wanna go into detail on this, I just don’t. Do yourself a favor and go see this. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I am giving this a 7.2.
