Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004)

I did just make some homemade queso dip. I do an adequate job, depending on how spicy you like your queso. I like mine super spicy, but make a mild batch for the ladies because I’m a nice guy, and I hate being a nice guy, I truly do. It’s like an illness. Moving on.

So we start off with B, she’s at the library looking up books on bloodletting.  There’s the guy that works at the library, and I recognize him. He’s from Freddy Vs Jason, the main guy’s crazy friend. He’s also in Leprechaun Origins, so you may hear about him again. His character’s name is Jeremy.  B has been shooting up some shit via needles, and she hears Ginger talking to her. I am all but positive Ginger wasn’t there. And so Jeremy shows up at B’s motel room and she is fucked up, so he goes to take her to get medical attention. In the car, well a werewolf attacks Jeremy, I’m gonna assume it to be Ginger. B tries walking away but collapses. We next see her in a hospital, and she hears Ginger again.

This movie is dull as hell. Too many females in this rehab clinic.B is a werewolf herself and there’s something going on about the next full moon. This movie is very sexual. So after talking about lots of sex stuff, shit gets so real. I believe B is daydreaming, she is in a class at the rehab clinic and all the girls are getting talked through how to masturbate, and all of these girls are rubbing their clitoris as the instructor so eloquently put. Haha, B has a hairy palm. I get that reference, as a bald guy.

This movie wasn’t bad, but nothing awe-inspiring. It certainly lacked the charm of the first one. I think perhaps my biggest gripe here isn’t so much in quality or storyline. It didn’t draw me in. At no point did I feel captivated. That’s a big thing for me. A film can be perfectly fine, sometimes great, but if I am not feeling it, what good is it to me? All in all, I think this was a decent movie, it seemed well done. I just got bored and it wasn’t for me. You may get a lot more out of it than I did, you probably will. Maybe I was just having a bad day, the fact is, I was having a terrible day, so that definitely had an impact. It’s not fair for me to grade this. I am giving it a 5.5 with the understanding that I will revisit this movie down the road with a clearer mind, and maybe not so many interruptions. I say watch it if you liked the first, but expect a very different and unique experience, but good nevertheless. I mean, thinking back on it, there was a lot of cool things I didn’t even appreciate so much but reflecting, it had its moments. Will revisit. My apologies for not giving you a better review.

Final Rating: 5.5
