The Mist (2007)

Back to back movies that really make me happy which aren’t tremendously revered by the general population. This movie has a great cast and that keeps the movie constantly going in a good direction. Now granted, the plot is sometimes lame as hell, or slow, but just focus on the awesome amount of great actors and characters. For you Walking Dead fans, you will notice Dale, Andrea, and Carol are all in this. I’m glad to have Jeffrey DeMunn in my blog at least twice. Then you have Thomas Jane who is good for what he is. William Sadler is another one of my all time favorites, best known for his role in Shawshank Redemption as the guy who says dumbass, and was also in the first episode of Tales from the Crypt, and well as Tales From the Crypt Demon Knight as the lead opposite Billy Zane. Andre Braugher is good as the black guy. Then you have 2 people who I feel steal the show for various reasons. The first being Marcia Gay Harden who turns in to the bad guy so to speak with her preaching and turning the people against one another. The other being Toby Jones who plays Ollie Weeks. Ollie is awesome and at one point has the tin in his hand, and the gleem in his eye and he pops a cap in a fool. He’s magnificent. So yeah, an amazing cast.

As far as the plot goes, these people are in a grocery store, a strange mist envelops the town and creatures start attacking people. I know, it sounds kinda dumb, but it is very fun if not taken seriously. The ending is interesting to say the least. Definitely worthy of a viewing. I personally love this dumb movie. Gonna give it a 7.7 and a smile.
