This has been on my list since the summer, and it has come up as a recommendation on a lot of things I watch, so here we go.
We have a girl named Sarah who works at some places that are like Hooters, called Teter Tots. but sells potato related stuff. She is also an aspiring actress, on stage. She F’d up some lines, so she goes backstage and pulls out some of her own hair. She sees an ad for something called Silver Scream, so she submits to it. She goes to a party with her roommate, and there are a bunch of other actors and actresses, those type. This party is full of pretentious asses pretty much. The girl is green is fucking obnoxious. Sarah bounces, and she got a call to audition for Silver Scream. . She goes to the audition and is fucking up and then she starts bleeding, and it’s a dream.
She goes to the real audition. Hey, a pretentious asshole is in charge of this audition. There is a middle-aged grumpy looking bitch with him. She does an admirable job and he just tells her that she is done, that’s all they needed from her, so she leaves all emotional beats up the bathroom and starts screaming. She then pulls out more of her hair. old lady comes in and says that maybe they didn’t see her whole performance. Lady wants to see her throw a fit again. Sarah says that she’s never done it before, and the lady just dismisses her. So Sarah decides to give it a shot. And she pulls it off and they say that they will be in touch.
She gets home and her roommate, Tracey, asks her how it went, and she says that she thinks that they kinda made fun of her, and she wants to be alone in her room. On her wall is a bunch of black and white pics of famous actresses. At work, she gets a call from the director, and he wants her back for another audition. Her boss is pissed about her taking phone calls. He tells her that this is her job and that acting is something she loves, but she needs to prioritize. She tells him that maybe she has to quit. The boss tries to back peddle but to no avail.
She shows up for the audition, and it is all dark inside and she receives instructions. Haha, they want he to disrobe. She is all questioning if the role requires it. They say no, but they need to let her inhibitions go. She takes off her dress, but they want her completely nude. She gets nude, and then it goes black. There are lights that start flashing. They want her to relax. Really, I don’t see what is so hard about being nude in the dark in front of strangers with a flashing light. After, she has a big smile on her face, and the lady says that is what they were looking for.
She comes home to 2 dudes, Danny and Poe, taking pics of the obnoxious bitch and another chick, and the guys are happy for her, and the bitch is just a bitch about it. She talks to Tracey, and Ashley, the bitch’s friend falls, bloodies her nose, and Sarah laugh. Bitch’s name is Erin. Later on, she gets a call that the producers wish to see her. Sarah gets all dressed up and looks nice to see the producers. Erin says that she looks overdressed because she can’t handle anybody getting attention other than her.
She meets with the Producer, and casting assistant lady is in there. This dude is great. He is making fun of the horror industry. He asks her why she pulls her hair out, and she says it’s just a habit, it helps her focus on the moment. He talks about how big this role will be for her. She says that she will do whatever she needs to do. He offers her the role. His hand slowly slides up her inner thigh and she gets creeped out. He says that she needs to open the gates for him. He goes too far and she jumps up and demands to be let out. Everybody is terribly disappointed. She comes home, says it went bad, and Erin is like, maybe I should audition. Sarah is in her room crying under the sheets and Tracey comes in to console her…..sexually. OK, not sexually. Sarah is a tad upset that she didn’t go for it.
Sarah comes back to Tater Tots and is trying to apologize to him and get her job back. He basically wants her respect, so she agrees. Danny talks to Sarah outside about living in a van and just about how people should stop sitting around and instead make something. He wants to send her a copy of his script, he wants her in his film. She wants to be the lead, and he agrees, so she agrees. This is definitely the lull of the movie. Lots of boring stuff in a pool. Sarah gets out, calls and wants another shot with the producer. They call her back and give her a time and date.
She ends up at his house. She asks if he wants her to read a scene or discuss the role. She falls down, has weird flashes. He asks her if she will forego her eyes for eyes that see his vision, and lets her body be a vessel and blah blah blah, so she says yes, and he says for her to show him. She’s on her knees, he’s standing, and he has a star scar on the back of his hand. She is sucking some dick, and we see people dressed in black with black face paint. Finally, business has picked up. I think she was deep throating.
She wakes up at her place and has bad abdominal pain. She is drooling on fries at work, the boss tells her to go home, and she and he have a tug of war over the fries, so she slaps him and he gives her the boot. Her nose is really red. She calls the producers saying that she doesn’t feel well but only left a message. Sarah is hanging at a skate park with everyone, she looks like she’s about to get sick. Poe is trying to film it, Tracey and Danny try stopping him, and Sarah pushes Tracey. Sarah walks away and goes to the producer’s house, and goes off on a person on the street that asks her if she is ok. Then apologizes. She’s a mess.
She has a rough night of dreams. now she is puking and her hair is falling out. She is eating yogurt with her hands, and the pukes more. She asks Tracey if she is on her period and touches her inappropriately. She is mad at Tracey for telling the group what happened at the audition. Sarah is just nuts. Sarah says that they are all using her. Tracey is like, Bitch, I have covered your bills the past 2 months. She goes to her room, finds an envelope of money, so she throws money in Tracey’s face and tells her to fuck off. Sarah is in bed and is getting smothered by audition lady. She says that they have something to show her. She wakes up and sees herself all glam’d up looking very pretty. She is having like a seizure.
She wakes up and goes to the bathroom to puke. Her hair is very thin up top, she’s going bald. Her fingernails are falling off. She is having her period. her mouth and teeth have been looking off lately but I failed to mention that. She sits in the bathtub and we see something her belly move. She just puked up a bunch of small worms, they weren’t maggots I don’t think. She is a fucking mess, and her phone is ringing, so she is crawling very, very, very slowly to her phone. Her upper lip is deteriorating I think. It’s the producer on the phone, and he acknowledges that she is slowly dying, and she has to sacrifice and “become one of us”.
She is creeping outside of Danny’s van and he is hanging with Erin and they are cuddling. Erin gets out to go pee in the bathroom, in the house there I guess. I don’t get it. She comes out and sees that the TV is on and she finds it weird. There’s Sarah in the kitchen, and she says “Bravo”. They get talking about fucking Danny for a role in his movie. Sarah says that they are all so sad and that Danny’s film is sad. Erin makes fun of Sarah for sucking an old dude’s cock to get in Silver Scream. Erin turns on the light, and Erin says that they need to get her to a hospital, Sarah screams no, grabs the knife on the counter and slices Erin’s mouth. Sarah rips out more hair, but it’s bloody now. I have seen so many knives on counters this month. Sarah decides to watch Erin struggle to get up, and then repeatedly stab her in the belly. Poe wakes up and must not notice anything, says “Sup?” and goes to piss. Sarah goes to Ashley’s bedroom with a dumbell and smashes her head in. Poe sees this, and she stabs him in the back repeatedly. Erin is still in the kitchen crawling. Of course, she is. Time to put a clear plastic bag over her head, mind you Erin’s hands are free, but she doesn’t rip a hole in the bag. Really?
Danny slides open his van door to see Sarah sitting there. He asks her if she saw Erin, and he is like, what’d you talk about? She says “You”. He tells her how everybody is worried and concerned about her. He offers to help her. She says that none of them are her friends, and she stabs Danny in the belly, twists, thrusts, re-stabs a few more times. She says that she has no friends. There’s only one thing in this world, and they are going to give it to her.
Here come some robed people. There is a line well-dressed people with lanterns all circling Sarahs’s nude body. They are chanting “Hail Astreyus. She is like clawing out of the clear plastic. These were all people in the production company. He says that she is ready to transform. She digs hers out of the ground, is covered in dirt. There’s a gift box there that says happy birthday, so she takes it. Tracey comes home, there’s dirt on the floor, and goes into Sarah’s room and there are a ton of candles. She apologizes to Sarah who is under a white sheet. She uncovers a bald and nude Sarah, who now has green eyes and the door magically closes. She gets Tracey into bed with. She tells Tracey to say goodbye. She is making out with Trace, and blood starts pouring out Tracey’s mouth. Sarah’s nails are pretty nice. Tracey is dead. She opens the gift box and she has a beautiful dress and wig in there. Those eyes, very pretty. She has the star necklace.

I can’t say it was absolutely awful, but the pacing kinda wasn’t there for me. There was a lull and if you didn’t think she was going to kill everyone, you must be new to horror. Sarah was fine for an actress. The last 20 minutes was good at least. I won’t watch it again I don’t think. But if you like cults and shit like this, it may be up your alley.
