Remember all the goodwill I gave to part 4? Well part 5 just takes a shit on it. It’s not the worst movie in the franchise, but second worst is nothing to be happy with. This movie…..first of all they kill Rachel off way too early and leave us with this annoying skank named Tina. Secondly, Jamie now how some psychic connection with Michael and can see what he sees or some such garbage. Loomis works with Jamie, who is mute half the movie, to try to track down Michael. Some man in black is in this entry, don’t ask. This movie needed more tits I feel. All in all, it just lacked good story, good characters, added an absolutely awful character, and you can start seeing why Dr Loomis is such a beloved character, he’s the only one that acts well aside from Jamie.
Michael formulates a plot to lure Jamie out. Yeah, Michael is very cerebral all of a sudden. It works, he gets her back to the house. All hell breaks lose. Oh and if you wondered how Michael came back after the blaze of guns and dynamite at the end of 4, well a hermit finds him and nurses him back to health. Oh god, I forgot about the stupid sound effects when dealing with the 2 bumbling cops. WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA???????? It sticks out so bad in this franchise. I love that Loomis will sacrifice so much to get his man in this one. We see that Michael has a tattoo in this one, of thorns. Sigh.
I give this movie a 5.5 because it is watchable, it’s just not that great. It’s only going to get worse with the next one.
